The Prince Rupert Special Events Society coordinates and produces the community festivals that Rupertites know and love - the Children's Festival, Seafest, Canada Day and Winterfest. The success of this organization, like any not for profit society, is based on the many dedicated volunteers that help plan and manage these festivals each year. It takes as many as 300 total volunteers to put on the these festivals and events that benefit not only the community of Prince Rupert, but that also bring in regional tourists from surrounding areas.

Special Events is looking to build up their base of volunteers, and they want to know more about how to encourage Prince Rupert residents to come out to volunteer for these annual community festivals that are an integral part of our social fabric.

The City is collecting this information on behalf of Prince Rupert Special Events Society, and information will be shared with them in order to build a solid base of volunteers. All usernames will be removed from comments, and no identifying information will be provided unless participants are interested in volunteering, and consent to having their email contact information shared.

Survey respondents will be entered into a draw to win one of five limited edition 2019 Seafest t-shirts. All survey responses must be entered by May 31st.

Plus - there are added perks to volunteering! If you sign up to volunteer this Seafest, for every four hours worked on the Friday/Saturday, you'll get one entry to win one of six spots on Ocean Pacific Air's seaplanes during the Flypast on June 9th. The draw box will be located at the volunteer sign up station. (Thank you Ocean Pacific Air for your generous donation!)
