Frederick and Prince Rupert Blvd Work Delayed

8 April 2025

The City of Prince Rupert would like to inform the community that the Frederick/Prince Rupert Blvd infrastructure replacement project is experiencing a delay due to material supply challenges and environmental requirements. This is a complex project with numerous overlapping utilities, requiring careful coordination. The anticipated delay for the project is ~6 months. Public communication on the delay was postponed as staff worked to establish a better estimate of the extended timeframe, however contact has been made with the industrial property owners and SPCA around delays.

Although work in this particular area has been extended due to the complex nature of utilities in the area, the Crestview project is proceeding according to the originally provided schedule for water line replacement, with paving to occur once weather windows and contractor availability permits.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete the water line replacement to ensure long-term infrastructure reliability. For updates, please visit engage.princerupert.ca/big or contact us at big@princerupert.ca or 250-627-2822.
