The City of Prince Rupert is currently undergoing an update to the Zoning Bylaw. This update was initiated to accommodate changes in the new Official Community Plan (OCP) and to update a number of goals. Changes to the Zoning Bylaw include minor revisions such as the removal of the development permit guidelines (as these are now in the OCP) and establishing a more consistent format for each zone. Other changes are proposed on subjects such as shipping container usage, home occupations, off-street parking, outdoor equipment/derelict vehicle storage, day care in commercial zones, student housing, and secondary suites. These changes respond to issues in the community and to changes in the OCP. The City is looking for feedback from the community on these subjects and will provide residents with the opportunity to provide input.

Below is a survey to provide comments/questions regarding the proposed Zoning Bylaw; this survey will be open for submissions until Wednesday, March 17th at 4:00pm. We will review and respond to any questions you may have and will summarize your comments for Council.

If you have questions that require a direct response, this should be done on the "Questions" tab after the survey is completed.
